Give a Presentation about Sponsoring a Child

Giving a presentation is not as frightening as it might sound! There are many clubs and groups that would love to hear about Friends of the Orphans and the wonderful Nuestros Pequeños Hermanos homes, the sponsorship program and your own Godchild. The typical presentation is normally 15-20 minutes and can easily be tailored to the group to which you are presenting.

You probably have many potential audiences for sharing information about NPH kids and the joy of sponsorship. Think about all the contacts you or your family might have in your community. Ideas include:

     • A Bible study group from your church
     • Your child’s class at school
     • A parent teacher organization
     • A book club

     • A local group that has a mission to serve others such as Kiwanis,
       Rotary, PEO or Optimists. These community service groups are
       often looking for interesting speakers for their monthly meetings.

We will help you prepare for your presentation and provide all the materials you need. Just let us know the time allowed and we will brainstorm with you what would be the best approach for that specific group. Often it is possible to incorporate a short DVD or Power Point that tells the story of the pequeños.

The Resources section includes a list of talking points for presentations as well as information on Friends of the Orphans, NPH and the homes. Sample Power Point templates are available from your regional office. Alternatively, we can help you put together your own Power Point presentation or talking points. Finally, we can arrange for a guest speaker to come and help you share your experience and talk about Friends of the Orphans and NPH.

Contact the Child Sponsorship Manager of your regional office when you have a date set. An advance notice of two to three weeks would be appreciated. If you feel you would like to have another person with you the first few times you make a presentation, just let us know and we can arrange for a member of the staff or Sponsorship Committee to co-present with you.
