My name is Liliana Lizeth Guzmán Lizarde. I am 30 years old and I am the Director of the school Centro Escolar Católico Nuestros Pequeños Hermanos (NPH), Spanish for Our Little Brothers and Sisters, in El Salvador.

I began my work with NPH on the fourth of July, 1999, as the teacher of the 12 children who were the first to enter NPH El Salvador. As they were all of different ages, I had them split into three groups according to their competency. I had to deliver classes by alternating between the three groups at the same time. By the end of that year we already had 44 children and I could no longer cover them all. It was decided that we would make a formal NPH school, and that is how I became the School Director.

My desire to work in NPH was roused after I read a report in the newspaper which talked about the opening of a foundation for orphaned and abandoned children in Santa Ana. After reading the article, I went to talk to the founders and put myself at their service. Thus, I began working for NPH a mere three days after it opened in El Salvador! Nuestros Pequeños Hermanos is something very important in my life. They gave me the opportunity to begin my career and to develop professionally. They have shown great confidence in my work, giving me great responsibilities.

In addition to my professional happiness, NPH has helped me with my personal life as it was through NPH that I met the man who is now my husband. José Juan grew up in NPH Mexico before coming to work for the family in El Salvador. We became very good friends and were married in 2001. He has given me the great gift of being the mother of two beautiful angels, Diego and Natalia, who are my inspiration to live each day.

In summary, my life since 1999 has been Nuestros Pequños Hermanos, where God has permitted me to develop in all aspects of my life while enjoying my work because I do it with love and dedication.
