What We Do
WHO we help:
We help orphaned, abandoned and disadvantaged children in Latin America and the Caribbean. Many of our children have:
- Lived in dangerous and unsanitary conditions or on the street
- Lacked access to proper nutrition and health care
- Had to beg and scavenge to survive
- Never attended school
- Suffered physical and/or verbal abuse
- Been shuffled from one family member to another
They are referred by family members, neighbors or government agencies. When our children arrive, they range in age from newborn to teenager.

WHERE we help:
We support Nuestros Pequeños Hermanos (Spanish for “Our Little Brothers and Sisters”), which has a network of homes and outreach programs in the following countries:
Bolivia,
the Dominican Republic,
El Salvador,
Guatemala,
Haiti,
Honduras,
Mexico,
Nicaragua and
Peru. While all NPH homes are guided by the same principles and philosophies, features vary from site to site. To learn more about a particular home, click it on the map.
Friends of the Orphans organizes trips to the NPH homes on a regular basis.

WHAT we do:
We provide thousands of children with:
- The safety and security of a permanent and loving home
- The nutrition that makes them strong and healthy
- The healthcare to which every child is entitled
- The education they need to become a caring and productive member of their society
We assist more than 80,000 adults and children each year through
outreach programs that provide emergency supplies, food, health care and more.
HOW we help:
We support NPH through fundraising and volunteer efforts. We raise funds through
general donations, our
child sponsorship program and
special events. Our
International Volunteer Program sends qualified individuals, couples and families to support the staff and children living at the NPH homes.
